The Menopause Solution?J D DeanHot flashes, mood swings, night sweats... the list goes on and on. Finding a menopause solution is the main aim of a woman experiencing the symptoms however, solutions are a little more varied than just taking a "magical pill" and making it all go away. So what can you do?
A menopause solution can come in the shape of hormone replacement therapy, a natural remedy or even a solution used by your grandmother. Every individual woman is different and will have different ways of combatting menopause symptoms and let me tell you, combat in many cases is the right word to use. Using HRT Hormone Replacement Therapy is the best known and most common menopause solution. HRT has been used to reduce the weakening of the bones caused by menopause and helping to offset possible osteoporosis which is often linked to post-menopausal women. After several tests, however, many of the women taking HRT or similar therapies for menopause were found to be at greater risk to other disorders such as breast cancer and heart disease. So the question needs to be asked... is the solution worth the risk? Don't dismiss HRT as a solution to the symptoms of menopause because right now, it's proven to be the most effective treatment. Your doctor is best placed to discuss the benefits and side effects associated with hormone replacement therapy. As mentioned earlier, each woman has different needs and HRT is presented as one of the alternatives available. It will still be up to the individual to decide whether to go down that path. Natural Therapy Treatments Natural menopause solutions are becoming more and more popular. Given the possible side effects associated with HRT, many woman are now looking to more of nature's natural alternatives with soy based products coming into strong consideration. Containing naturally occuring isoflavones or phytoestrogens which are similar in nature to estrogen, soy based products are said to help in relieving hot flashes and night sweats, two of the best known menopause symptoms as well as promoting good bone health, benefits to the heart and promoting good hormone balance levels. Is it the answer to breaking free from menopause symptoms? No, it's just another solution but one worth considering. Remember, natural menopause solutions will have more delayed benefits than a treatment such as HRT. Consider this when making your decision. Natural products in the main won't provide instant relief because of their nature so speak with your doctor about the possibility of combining both traditional treatment methods along with natural alternatives. |
